WHAT INSPIRES ME AS AN AUTHOR

There are many things that inspire me as an author. One of the things that inspires me as an author is I believe writing is like a work of art. It gives you the freedom to express your emotions and opinions through your own vision and experiences. An author can create these wonderful pieces that can be shared amongst people all over the world. People can read an author’s work and express their opinions on what they took from it. They can even give an author insight and sometimes take away things regarding characters or topics that even the author may not have even intentionally expressed while writing it.
There are so many different genres of books that have been written that cater to all walks of life. I have this great analogy of books. They remind me of a large buffet of food. There are a variety of great things to choose from. Some people may stick with one or two particular items on the buffet, and some people pile their plates with a variety.
Another thing I love about authors in general that is inspiring, is their writings invite people into their thoughts. Some people are looking for an answer on something in particular, and they may pick up a book regarding that certain topic they’re inquiring about and find that answer. People discover through books that a particular issue they may feel alone in, that they’re not the only person dealing with that issue. It can give the reader encouragement or a different outlook on life on a particular subject. An author’s book can really open up a person’s mind to see a different prospective on a topic. To some readers an author’s work can become a great escape.
I love authors of children’s books. I believe if you’re able to catch the attention of a child with a story, it causes them to want to read more. Some children’s books allows them to go into a place that’s fairytale and opens up their imagination. It gives them that freedom of just being a kid, especially in today’s society where children are growing up too fast. When my daughter was younger, I would read her bedtime stories from whatever book she chose. That story time before bed was an intimate time we shared, which I believe brought us closer together. That’s another reason I think children’s books are so great and one of the inspirations of me being an author.
